Business incubation

STFC Innovations Ltd. has been at the forefront of developing a new way of helping STFC interact with businesses by placing them at the heart of the two national science and innovations campuses (Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus and Harwell Oxford).

At Daresbury the Innovations Technology Access Centre (I-TAC) is a unique, fully equipped space for innovation, research and development providing flexible access to laboratory space, "hot-labs" and £3m scientific equipment. I-TAC is ideally suited to laboratory based start up companies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and research and development teams from established companies in the Biomedical, Chemical, Energy, Environment and Materials sectors.

At Harwell the European Space Agency (ESA) Business Incubation Centre is designed to create new business opportunities and jobs for non-space companies and broaden the market for space industry by translating space technologies, applications and services into viable business ideas in the non-space market place.
